Night club photography

Canon kit lens is fine.

Falsh kit with diffuser
ISO 100-400 (as you're using flash)
Aperture as open as possible (if on the kit lens)
Slower shutter speed than what has been mentioned, like 1/4 or less.

I made quite a bit of money one year doing photo's in various clubs.

Lenses to consider as an upgrade are Canon 10-22 or the Sigma 10-20.

Do you mind posting some examples, because at 1/4 your going to get a fair amount of blur/ghosting with the ambient portion of the exposure, unless that's the effect your going for?

Two in here I just found on FB:

Not the best examples though, I'll try and find some better ones. I'm also not sure what shutter speed they were taken with.

Try the 14mm it's great for this sort of thing. You will likely be challenged with the limitations in low light of the 350D, I would suggested you go wide and fast and limit the use of flash if possible.

It's nigh on impossible to get any decent photo's in a night club without a (decent) flash. You need it for the 1st curtain to work, hence you can shoot as low as 1/50 and lower without blurring the subject.

1/50 is what i would have said or a bit lower but i wouldnt (havnt) try at 1/4

though its something ill have a go at
