5830 good buy at £65

The GTS 450 is basically a DX11 variant of the GTS250/9800GTX.
The 5830 is like a DX11 variant of the 4890.

Id say it's worth it, the last 5830 I used clocked to 1000MHZ on the core easy.
 
Sapphire ones are best for overclocking. I have PowerColor ones, they're good, but not as overclockable.

Yes it is, the GTS 450 has 192 shader processors whereas the 250GTS/9800GTX/8800 GTS 512MB all only had 128.

Easyrider I guess it would be a slight upgrade, but don't expect massive increases in FPS. Why don't you save up a little more and get something significantly faster?

Just needed a gaming card for the odd game. The 6950 wasn't getting used to its full potential so sold it for little loss.

I watch movies more than game you see...So needed a card with HDMI out but that could play the odd game when I felt like it without feeling there was over 200 quids worth of hardware in my PC not getting used.

The GTS 450 struggled a bit in metro 2033 and that got me thinking I needed a 256bit card with more grunt for around 5770 money. The 5830 seemed to fit the bill
 
Easyrider you still havn't said where you got this card for £65 so I take it its 2nd hand, I've looked around and I cant find any. Thought I'd got a bargain on here a couple of weeks ago when I spotted Msi Cyclone 460 1Gb for £79.99 in the B Grade section and they had 10+ in stock, ordered one and they took my money but turned out to be an 'error' and they all 'disappeared' from the site, still reckon someone bought them all.
Was in the cream puff for a while. LOL:D
