Had about 3 hours of it in Northallerton today, it's stopped now though.

Yeah..

i was sitting in my room and saw this huge flash outside, the light actually lit up my room a bit

couple of seconds later the loudest thunder i've ever heard

I don't think I have heard one bit of thunder in the 6-7 months

Not unless I completely missed it

I remember one massive lighting strike and thunder happening down the road from me, was immense! 3AM, Boom, few car alarms going off

No thunder here though did drive through a very bad hail storm on Wednesday, about 2pm or so on the A64 near York, did anyone else see that?

All traffic slowed down to about 10mph as it got so bad I think we all thought the windshield would go any minute.

I got a 4 min video of it that a mate took with his iPhone 4, never seen anything like it.

It was above our house earlier. Loud enough it woke my housemate up from her nap. She came downstairs looking all confused bless her

That was about half two though. It cleared up not long after that.

Was working today, outside lightening struck pretty close, as the flash was crazy bright.
Few seconds after the thunder roared through, was so loud it set off car alarms and everyone in the shop jumped. (chilton)

Had a few thunder storms last night, it killed the power to the whole village for about 5 minutes. Nipped to the shop earlier for a paper and some bon bons and got asked by a guy down at the bottom why my Office still had power when the whole village was out, cue a 10 minute explanation to what UPS's were!
