Vauxhall Cavalier

No, its a vauxhall Cavalier! its 21 years old and an old Vauxhall, how can it be worth 1500.

They weren't bad, but the 8v was only 115hp so it's 'going well' compared to basically all the slow cars that were around in 1990.

For some reason, I am not sure if it was the gearing, the fact that they were not that heavy (by todays standards) or the fact that 115 bhp was a conservative estimate, the ones I drove felt brisk, much brisker than 115 bhp would suggest.

However when you consider the new Insigina VXR is 321 bhp things have moved on somewhat.

We've had a number of 2.0 Cavaliers over the years so I would agree with you. I suspect it's fairly good gearing and maybe a slightly conservative power figure, but what really helped it was very good low-end and mid-range (typical 8v) pick up, which is where the majority of people are going to be driving them.

However, the 2.0 GLSi Sierra could take the 2.0 GLSi Cavalier of the time :p

This has 115bhp Sri would come with the seh 8v and 130bhp or a 16v xe with 156bhp or later 16v with a xev and 130bhp

Fair play it is an extremely clean and tidy looking motor but at the end of the day it is still a 1989 Vauhall and there's no way it's worth the asking price.

Funny how some of the cars of that era are now considered classics (series1 RST's) for example. I suppose it is all down to the following they've got and I'm afraid these Vauxhall's just haven't got that.

It's not even a decent example, If there is such a thing as a decent example of a Camels ear, Also it's in **** brown.

I had a Cavalier 1.7 Diesel in that very colour.

It was terrible, but still surprisingly comfortable.

Considering how immaculate that car is - I'd say £1500 wasn't a particularly bad shout, and if it's as mint as it looks it's probably the cleanest car you could get for the money.
