Slightly disappointing, probably due to hype, but I'll listen to it in the car over the next week where it will likely grow on me.

Certainly not as instantly likable as MBDTF.

listening to it right now

1st song - terrible
2nd song - rambling over a beat
3rd song - first good song but has some weird parts for instance the whole static thing which kicks in at about 2.45 ruins the end of the song

initial impressions on the first 3, first is too laid back beat for the kanye verses, etc. 2nd song has amazing beat and weak lyrics. 3rd song starts amazing, good beat and lyrics, ruined by over production, especially the end.

overall so far album is garbage, it better get better, i have a feeling most of this was made by kanye west and his over inflated ego.

4th song wow, really good, Gotta Have It, literally, hope the rest are like this one

5th song - weak

6th song - garbage

7th song - annoying beat

8th song - very strong, strong lyrics and beat, jay z goes crazy on this one, best song so far

9th song - weird beat, over produced

10th song - weird again

11th song - beat ruined what could have been a really good song

12th song - weird beat again

13th song - strong production, wow the beat goes very well so does the sampling, strong lyrics from kanye on this one

14th and 15th - weak again

so 3 maybe 4 good songs, typical jay z or west album, bring back DMX

I have just got it. Will put some initial thoughts on in a bit. For some reason I never really had high hopes for it though, hoping it will surprise me. Otherwise I'll stick to Late Registration, Graduation and MBDTF. It isn't like Kanye has a lack of good albums

everybody seems to be getting worse the further they go into their career. its certainly the decline of urban music, or we have hit a dip. its been like this for a couple of years now too.

rick ross is now the king lol, never in a million years would i ever think of saying this, but lately he has had a lot of good songs, certainly released a lot better songs in the past year than this album has put together.

I just listened to the whole thing in the background while playing CoD4. None of the songs were so horrible I had to exit the game and press next but nothing was especially great. The songs that made me alt+tab out of the game to check the name of were "Who gon' stop me", "Why I love you" and "HAM". Still, on first listen of MBDTF my thoughts were kinda "meh" and slowly the songs all grew on me. Especially Power, I really disliked it at first. Ahh well hopefully it will grow on me anyway.

As a producer, I think Kanye kind of sucks now. When the Roc was on the rise, he made so many "classics" or top records.

Skippi, I have just noticed my version of the album doesn't have Otis, the fact that Psycho Sonny's also only has 15 songs confuses me. :confused:

Deluxe edition doesn't have Otis. Odd, I know.
