As disenfranchised and disaffected as they may be....is smashing up the places that they live in going to help any of that?

Not directly, but in the last two days the general public take a lot more heed of the problems within the populations than a decade plus of gang and drug violence.

That is helping.

It is giving media air time to people who are willing to voice the concerns of the effected populations at large. Now whether the middle class, white privileged public like on here want to go 'LOL' when they talk then that is that, but at least they are getting heard by those who want to rise their head above sand.

Actually, the best part of this is the majority of you lot would I have to assume are white, middle classed and privileged are blaming this all on Skin colour and 'lolling' when people come out to say that this is a result of the black/youth population is generally disenfranchised with the police and this country as a whole.

Its nice to see that the 'bury your head in the sand' approach still is alive and well despite the 'information' age :).

I'm brown, lower middle classed and not privileged. However i've seen this issue in enough parts of the world to know that something is not right with a certain race of human called the negro. Its the SAME everywhere with them, violence, rape, robbery, murder and they're always the 'victim'. I'm not stupid enough to believe ALL of them are like that, but look at other races and you'll notice the ratio of that type to 'normal' folk is a whole lot less.

I don't have the white guilt that many lefties have and don't pull my punches, even my family dosen't condone my views but my eyes were gradually opened over the years.

What are you on about !?

I thought it was a obvious question  which clearly it was as it's been answered before you replied. I've been on call all weekend so haven't had the chance to watch sky news 24/7.

Only posting in here as hadn't realised how serious and sad this thing is.

Sure protest and put your point across but violence isn't going to win you any fans or help in anyway:(

Pish.

I couldn't care if you were black, white, green or chuffing blue. These riots have NO excuse.

The fact you seem annoyed that people here are mocking the persons being interviewed on TV as they say its because it's
a result of the black/youth population is generally disenfranchised with the police and this country as a whole
would indicate you actually sympathise with their "situation"... A situation that they had a major part in putting themselves in in the first place.

They know that they are unhappy. That is all that they need to know.

This has been a long time coming. Its a shame that it seems to have been spurred on by the death of a drug dealer, but still.

Again, do you actually agree with these riots?
