Ferrari 360 Experience Day - Elvington, York

I did the same type of thing last year (check out my identical pic!)

My instructor was brilliant, had me trying to outbrake the challenge stradale (which isn't easy!) and overtaking everything bar the Atom (again, not easy!)

I'm doing the full Elise day at Castle Combe later this month so I'm hoping for more of the same, definitely don't want to be changing up at 3000rpm or anything stupid like that or I'll be complaining.

I had a very similar experience on my 360 day at Donington Park. Hardly got into the power band before being told to change gear. It was so frustrating that on the last lap when it was too late to do anything about it I left the braking until the last moment just to get the car out of shape on entry to the corner.

The Single seater experience was much more fun. No instructor no driving aids switched on. Best time I've had on a track in years!

My god the patronisation is unbelievable.

"That's good, well done...", shut up love I've drove the kids to school faster.

I was thinking of asking the GF to get me one of these for Christmas but I doubt I will be now.

I imagine these experiences do a lot more for those who are less petrol head orientated!

Yeah massively by the people there and their reactions. They've probably never used full throttle before nor been on a track (which is an event in itself)

Well, when I was at Elvington, I had fun. But I was in my own car, on a tiny (in comparison) handling circuit! If I ever receive one of these as a gift, it's going back.

I deeply regret buying my brother a similar track day experience many years ago, he drove an S2000, Cooper S, passenger ride in a Scooby (which was actually his favourite bit) and drove a bus.

I remember him saying what's the point in these days if you're not allowed to go below 3rd gear and above 5.5krpm.. it just looked boring from me watching. Shame really! :(

I wouldn't pay to go round a field of cones! That's not fun. I want proper chicanes (red and white corners). Honestly, I have more fun driving round in my Yaris on some A-Roads than what you did there!

I would want my money back after watching that video.

I did the same experience at the same place, and while it was very rushed and all of a bit of a mess, once I got in the car the instructor was very good, encouraged me to absolutely floor it and also got me to catch up and overtake another car at one point (only because they were being so slow). He just pretty much left me too it after the first lap

But the whole day just seemed like they rushed you through. Compared to my dads one at Thruxton, it seemed pants

Most of the experiences and take you own car track days are bases at old airfields. Honestly in the right car without an instructor I've had some of the best track days. Doesn't matter if its on a 'proper' circuit or airfield, when you're allowed to go flat out it's always fun.
