Hello all,

Any thoughts on the 325 Ti M Sport. I've seen a few on a 54 plate cropping up for around £6k. Considering they were £25k new it seems great value for a decent spec car.

Has anyone here owned one?
Are they good value?

Cheers,
Nick

Facelift E46 330 Coupés have to be down within £6k territory by now, surely?

Nicer looking car, faster etc. - that's where my money would go.

They don't do a 325 Ti M Sport, only a Sport. Aside from the slightly low rent interior and polarising looks they are pretty good though no cheaper to run than a 330i.

I would rather a pre facelift at that money, 6k buys the rubbish that looks shiney in the pics when it comes to facelift ones.

Fox, I know you are the fountain of knowledge when it comes to BMW's so it's probably my terminology.

The 325 Ti I'm thinking of has the M sport body kit and //M wheels and alacantra seats etc. Is this just a sport and not a M sport then? i.e. M sport = M3, M5 M6?

He's just being pedantic really - BMW up until 2006 or something used the terminology Sport, afterwards they changed it to M-Sport and nothing really changed except the name :P

That is the Sport trim level.

M Sport was a rename of this but not until after they stopped the 325Ti I think.

However most of the chimps selling older BMWs either cannot read the V5 or like to pretend it has more M in it.

Understood!

So... the 325 Ti Sport generally gets the thumbs up as a decent motor for £6k?

The only thing I can see that generally lets it down is lack of xenon headlights. Is there anything else around £6k that is reasonably new and has decent performance.

To give you an idea I currently own an 02 Clio 172 but I've grown out of it, even though it's not that loud the noise from the exhaust can grate on long journeys.

The 325ti is a hoot to drive imo, not so keen on the looks mind.

I would opt for a 330i over one, every time.

I'd buy the one I've found in black with 39k on a 04 with one previous owner for £6k if it had xenons.

Wounded.

So you've found the right car for the right money yet you want to pass it by for the sake of Xeon lights?

A bit daft imo, but hey, its your money...............
