Ad nauseum and we still have these problems today.

If you really studied sociology of Africa before foreign invasion and slavery, you'll know that Africans were very understanding of their children. After this invasion, we've got atrocious acts of violence happening in Africa. I'm not claiming every single act of violence is the foreigners fault, but a hell of a lot of it is. Ditto for middle east.

Lots of people from school on Facebook last night saying that the looting had already got to Cheshunt. Obviously completely untrue but people seemed to be buying.

Yeah, because using rubber bullets hasn't caused a backlash of violence nearly every time they've been used before.

Time to get the rubber bullets out unfortunately, people who do this and have no respect for the police deserve to get shot at, and IMO get the **** belted out of them by Riot police using battons.

I don't think people who think it's OK to break into shops and steal things are going to learn from a slap on the wrist and a day cleaning graffiti that they probably did themselves.

They'll soon drop their little 'crusade' when they are getting bruised to hell and back by rubber bullets and bean bag shotguns. Bring them on! :cool:

I'm not advocating we arrange a Tea Party, but if all the Police did were to be the "bigger boys" and just use more violence, there's be more unrest.

What's the point in smashing up a chemist?

I can see that they'll gain something by robbing some stuff but why smash things up for the sake of it?

It's not violence though, it's a harmless method of detaining people. These weren't people out to riot they were thieves.

If we do nothing, what's to stop more of it happening?

BBC - Local MP @ChukaUmunna tells me serious questions need to be asked about role of social media in #londonriots

I don't disagree for one minute that Twitter and BBM have helped organise these, I've said it myself. But I don't see how you can stop it or do anything about it. The Police are now saying they will arrest anyone found to be inciting origination of these, but its not yet known how lawful that is.

The Police have also now confirmed they didn't have enough Officers in Tottenham on Saturday night, numbers were increased last night and will be even greater this evening.
