Ferrari 360 Experience Day - Elvington, York

[..]
But JP day is the one, all they do is scream POWER POWER at you because its all timed and very competitive. [..]

There are some JP day videos on Youtube that really show the difference between them and the OP's experience.

"Down one, down two, turn....FULL POWER!"

Way to kill the fun and ruin an experience day, that video was cringeworthy. I did the brand hatch rally day and they were letting us push it, they taped over the speedo but you still got a sense of fun. Infact the guy was even managing the handbrake (I was 17 when I did the experience day) to get the car sideways for maximum fun.

Comment from wacky0pker on YouTube:

" yer i dont have power steering ya see" "oh no i spose you dont, it's different isn't it, it kinda does it for you. NO ****ING WAY!!

I assume that's from someone on here. :D

I knew they wouldn't let you give it the beans, Air field or not. I've only ever heard bad things of these days.

No wonder you got in the mini and had more fun!

I echo Gibbo, Palmer motorsport days are the best around. £800ish for the day but OMG.

Lewis Hamliton was instructing a year or two before I first went.

Been lucky enough to have been twice.

If you had her to take you round the top gear track in the ferrari you wouldn't even beat the slowest time that a star in the reasonably priced car set. Clearly she either didn't like going fast or she was too concerned about the car, 4k rpm max, balls, complete waste of money. You would have had 10x more fun in your mini.

Another gem, are these all from you guys or what? :o

I'm sorry, I just couldn't watch it all, it was just too painful. I could have gone faster and had more fun in a transit van. You'd think the woman was teaching someone that'd had never driven a car before, for the love of god it's a ferrari not an entirely new concept. I've done the track day experience at knockhill and its a million times better than that crap, totally agree, avoid this experience day at all costs.

I have more fun than that driving the ST to work everyday :o

In fact i think i have more fun than that at work.

In fact i think i have more fun than that whilst sitting having a **** at work.

In fact i am having more fun than that posting on here right now.

just watched some of it again, cant help but think there was an obvious reason why she didnt let you open it up, and it wasn't because she was a miserable witch. :o

The first 51 seconds will explain it all, you pretty much didnt listen at all while driving at low speed, so shes going to be reluctant with you driving at speed.....

I was going right, are you retarded dale?

wow!

You didnt listen to her one bit, you were like a nodding dog on drugs, "ok" "yeh" "yeh" "ah", then didnt listen to her simple instructions of where to go.... She then even told the photographer youd come from an old mini, so she was obviously apprehensive from the start, then you nail it and bang on about your mini again..

are you retarded?

like people have said she had done a bit of psychological profiling on you...

After throwing my own ST around Silverstone GP track yesterday for two sessions, I don't think I'd fancy one of these "experience" days, reports seem to show them as hit or miss, lots of them seem to think you've got the bus in, they've undone the straps on your straight jacket then you've climbed into your very first car. Probabley would have been cheaper and more fun to buy a total nail of a car, then just stick it on their "track" and drive around without a muppet in the passenger seat, at least your own car includes correctly aligned rear view mirrors :p
