worst of it is the police will ignore the looters and arrest the shop owners for defending their livelehoods

Probably someone who's house is on the line, the police seem to just want to hold the situation and think that it will wear out. Typical Copper mentality of trying to be impartial, quids in that they'll not follow up after word just in case they upset the community.
Coppers really are a waste of bloody time, they have no authority to protect the law abiding subject, care more about targets and then the crown court hands out stupid sentiences.

This is just showing how crap the police force is, if this was America or any other country on earth this would have been stopped on Saturday.

rubbish

years of tensions between the poorer communities and authorities are whats causing this. the same as most major riots in history. even the people in the know on the news are saying they had been warned of this for years.

also if you actually bothered to watch the news you would see that there are just as many white as black people rioting and which community leaders have spurred this on ? funnily enough most are against the destruction of their communities...

as for gangster scumbag well yes he was in the wrong carrying a gun and yes he should probably of been shot if police felt threatened but WHY the cover ups ? the lies ? . why not just say ''he pointed a gun at us and we shot him'' , instead of rubbish about him shooting a police radio etc.
 
Wonder if this will affect the number of people planning on visiting London for the Olympics next year? I certainly have no desire to go to London again :(
 
Contrary to popular belief, it’s not just black men rioting in London. I have seen numerous pieces of footage, and there's plenty of black women at it as well!

Don't get me wrong, the RUC and PSNI rule when it cones to public order. They are outstanding. That said, they can't prevent rioting nor stamp it out in the blink of an eye as some think should be happening here.

No, lets face it theirs no way to ever stop rioting, difference is here we have a long political reasons for people to be doing this, I never seen looting for the REASON to riot, if that makes sense. Also it was easy to where past tensions are in Belfast/ NI overall. But if the poop hit the fan, they knew when to hold their ground, use plastic bullets, and the newer Water cannons prove to be VERY effective when shot into large groups.

I dont know the areas in London so I dont know if living their its obvious if something like this was on the cards.

Theirs been a problem with the MET for decades, they think they are the shizzle, Hugh Orde was known to have said they wouldnt learn or want to know the lessons that could be learned from such things in NI. And its VERY clearly showing.
 
Sutton, Surrey has apparently been closed off. It's spreading everywhere! I live down the road from it, 2-3 helis flying around.
 
I hope some arrests are made very soon after the BBC just showing the viewer-submitted footage from the Birmingham looters!
