To the people saying we need water cannon deployment -

What will that achieve? I think it would be useful to have however I'm not entirely sure it would help much bar stop people attacking one area. However with the vastness of London it would just direct the rioters elsewhere.

The only thing that will stop this is a natural fizzle out or boots on the ground.

You're probably right, but if the trouble gets stomped on, even just in one area, maybe it'll make some of them think twice about going out on the streets in the first place...that's assuming they think at all!

The officer who took one in his radio was shot by another cop, who was either in a panic or simply an idiot.
