Hi I hoping someone in Bangor could do me a little favor and check to see if a shop is open or shut down as I've been ripped off.

I spent £150 at www.rawvintage.co.uk and 3 weeks later still can't contact them (Phone No disconnected, no reply to e-mails etc). A subsequent web search only finds 3 reviews which are all negative so it's a pretty good guess I've been ripped off but as I paid via CC at least I can claim the money back. However I wouldn't mind seeing if the shop is real.

The address is Unit 16 Dunlop Developments, 8 Balloo Drive, Bango BT197QY if anyone could check it out that'd be awesome.

Many Thanks.................................IanH

About 30minutes away from Bangor to be honest, and probably wouldn't be around that area. If its good on Saturday and no one else has checked it out I may take a drive down though :)

I do know there is someone on here from either Bangor or Holywood that posts in the Photography section but his name evades me.

Bit of an update, definately semi-scammers unfortunately :( (do sell somethings, scam on others items) However I've been busy today and found this out so far

He's 45 and lives with his wife Iris and son Lee in a Semi Detached Bungalow worth £90,000 with a 90M/2 floorplan at least up until '09 according to the electoral roll. However from 2010-11 he only lives with wife Iris (who's 65+ according to the roll) as Lee moved out.

He owns several other websites (all linked to that address - see below) and is currently trading quite well now on eBay as "Combatgearuk" (started poorly though but getting better). His original account "rawvintageuk" has stopped being used after getting hundreds of negative feedback. It also looks like his Son Lee is a chip off the old block if eBay is anything to go by. He goes by "Leeshop2010" and has a similar rep as his old man (doing better after a shaky start). His wife and son are both importers of "Mexicanshoes" shoes too :D

Other websites include Zara-gear.com, Qualitygear4U.co.uk, Alphagear4U.co.uk and others all now defunct and he's been trying to Tap Up some chinese companys to sell him their electronic goods but almost all seem to be having none of it (made-in-china.com etc)

His Brother (guess) John Adamson also has buinesses registered to that address but doesn't live there so I'm not sure if thats anything to do with Colin.

Sadly it looks like he lost his his legs in 1991 after being hit a drunk driver (one report says he can use crutches & false legs - hence the bungalow and railing around it) and he subsequently filed (and won) a claim for £35,000 for falling over a cracked Flagstone when "NOT" drunk having left a friends house with his brother John in the early hours of the morning, although he did have a self confessed drinks problem upto 2 weeks before the accident, then he's tea-total.

And mainly from a Whois lookup getting it started! Once I had the address it only took a few hours of digging, shame I had to really :(

Epic detecting skills. Give it all to the CC company when you get your charges back and tell them now you have zero excuses to get your cash back from him :D

So, after finding all that out the guy clearly hasn't got a leg to stand on.

From Bangor but only seen the thread now, sorry! Guess you don't need anything checked out now due to your detective skills? Hope you get the money back.

Bah one thing I could have actually been useful for! I live very very close and can knock on his door if you like? If he's got no legs I should be able to take him easily. :p
