Recommend me some Sci-Fi TV shows

Well I was kinda wondering if somebody would recommend some decent shows, I love DW but I've not watched pretty much any Sci-Fi in the last few years, watched the 2nd X-Files movie other week and loved it, before that I watched a few episodes of Stargate (don't know which or what season/episode sorry)

Was looking at shows below, but dunno where to start with some of them (apart from X-Files which would be season 1)

Battlestar

Stargate

Star Trek

X-Files

missing anything?

Firefly? Haven't seen it but it's supposed to be good.

Some people still watch Babylon 5 too. Maybe look at Farscape, you might like that or might not.

watch from the start but then forget series 1 (except the important plot lines)
then watch season 5 but forget you watched it and just think it ended at 4 :O
 
Battlestar Galactica is my pick out of the bunch. Start with the miniseries, then go on to season one.

Then follow up with Firefly and Eureka.
 
I started watching battlestar galactica but I got really bored with the pacing of the show.

There are a few episodes that are all action but when theres no action happening its like youre watching a soap opera set in space.
 
I must admit I nearly stopped watching BSG after finishing Season 1 (when it was on tv). However, I carried on and it repaid my faith in spades. It turned out to be the second best scifi show I have ever watched (B5 still wins).
 
What about Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

Okay it only lasted two seasons, and ended with more questions than answers but it does have the stunningly gorgeous Summer Glau in it :D

Also - Stargate Universe, again only two seasons but definitely worth a watch imo.

Lastly I'd recommend BSG which was a awesome remake of the 70's original and remember: Adama rocks! :cool:

Doctor Who (mainly the new series, but there is some really good tv to be had in the classic ones - especially with Tom Baker)
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (the others are good -especially TNG- but this one is the best imho)
Earth: Final Conflict
Andromeda
The 4400

Also I would certainly recommed the following shows which have already been mentioned:

Babylon 5
Firefly
Stargate SG1 (and to a lesser extent stargate atlantis, but only when you get to the correct point in SG1)
Star Trek (original series)
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Stargate Universe (ideally after SG1 and SG atlantis for any of it to make sense)
Battlestar Galactica
