Guys, why all the negativity. What do you want the politicians to do? Doubling the number of policemen on the street and adding another two thousand is surely a good thing, and he strongly hinted at letting them use more robust measures too.

The main problem with policing the past two nights is that in every location, police have been completely outnumbered.

having three times as many officers on the street, may help overwhelm numbers, but if they still have their hands tied, then it will still be ineffective.
