Or perhaps just ease the funding cuts to our Police?

It would be a way of separating the dirty work from the community-friendly attitude that the plod are currently obliged to provide. Any nasty stuff could be handled by an organisation that aren't expected to go in with a soft touch, whereas at the moment everyone seems to think that the police have no right to use force.

But yes I think the funding cuts are going to be reviewed now!

Have the spread any were else except Manchester, Liverpool and London?

Birmingham.

Are we really at the point where we need water cannons though???

It seems the rioters have no real motive. This "fad" will just die off pretty quickly I think.

I've got to be honest, I'm disappointed with the Government response to this.

There is no doubting that those extra Police are going to help and they've been doing the best they can. There however was still no clear message of the consequences. These people have already proved they are of low IQ, it's no good saying that you will eventually get caught, they can't put two and two together to see that.

What they need is a clear message, such as:

- We will use rubber bullets, you will get hurt.

or

- Anyone arrested tonight will be charged under the terrorism act and spend the next five years in jail.

The message that has been sent out this morning to the troublemakers is "Try again" but we've got more people this time. Hopefully it will make a difference, but I think it's only after whatever happens tonight that they will then decide to actually some force.

Communities need to stand against this. You only have to look at the Turkish and Muslim communities to see why their areas aren't being trashed. These people know not to **** where they eat.

I never realised how many scummy people live in Britain. I dont think it's likely that this type of things happen in other parts of the world, because they have communities. We have very few.

So of these 12000 or so cops how many are riot trained? And are they being brought in from other areas, could leave other places vulnerable.

It's in Manchester?

BTW I don't agree with this "let the police be more heavy handed" - this isn't the 17th century, haven't we learnt that brutality does no good in the long run?
