my firms Lewisham office and adjacent shopping center have been closed as police are expecting more trouble tonight

why has a curfew not been put in place?
 
Hackney council offices evacuated and I'm currently in the Churchill garden estate in Westminster/pimlico and there is a large group of kids who have just started burning bins.

I know, I said non-white because I didn't want to say black, its a stupid term anyway really as its more like darker shades of brown than black, some people that call themselves black just look suntanned, hell they closer to white than black, the only black person I have ever seen was Noob Saibot in MK3.

using plastic bullets etc... is a reactive method, I'm more interested in getting to the root cause and stopping this flaring up ever again...

Whilst I think they all deserve a pelting (they're criminals after all!) and deserve to spend the next few months/years rebuilding the communities and areas they've trashed - that's an immediate "stop doing that" action. I'm all for giving them a clip round the ear, so to speak. However, long term, we need a different solution to this problem. It won't go away unfortunately until something more robust is done with the communities - that's where we need strong leaders to guide, and educate these kids into learning to be one nation not a multitude of small ones.
 
Nottingham Forest and Nottingham County are playing tonight which is usualy all out war after the match finishes but apparntly both Forest and County fans/hooligans have agreed if chavs are kicking off they will join forces and go after them. Nottingham city center could be very interesting tonight.
 
This is the working class revolting against the police, who are the immediate strong arm of the State that recently and increasingly wishes to contain youth and the poor with prisons and austerity. Looting is an act of breaking the windows that hold people from the commodities they desire. This isn't to say that looting is a positive act of transcendence of the present order, because it conforms to dangerous consumerism. But the looter deserves a luxury good just as much as the buyer.

The working class is nasty. What do you expect after decades of neoliberalism?

I can't help but comment on the sheer joy the rioters express. How good must it feel to fight back against the police who bother you daily and terrorize your community regularly? They laugh, swigging liquor with their friends as they take the **** they've always wanted but could never afford.
 
This is pathetic from the Police, so they are releasing picture taken from CCTV quality images and asking people to what...grass their mates up?

this will backfire badly on the government in the aftermath, the law abiding wont forget how badly the state has failed to protect them
