Isn't that what the police are supposed to do? Prevent and then be prepared for this sort of violence - clearly they've done neither.
Again..im not talking about the police their on the ground, im talking about the obvious in ability from the guys at the top to get things organised.

They may not know why they are angry and disenfranchised due to shambolic state the lower classes have been allowed to fall into because of a severe lack in education, support and investment into our poorest areas, but one cannot deny these people are angry and willing to break the law for a reason, explaining it makes me neither a marxists or socialist.
There are no jobs these people could get, they have been left behind long ago, society has failed them.
And i'm coming round to your view (it's a regular love in!). I still think stuff like Teargas has it's utility in dispersing crowds, but yes this isn't the Middle East. Lets see how 16000 Police can control the situation.
And as i've said, we need to get the situation under control - once that's done there needs to be a SERIOUS conversation about what and why.
They're all probably just getting out of bed.
What, the guys at the top who have authorised the use of armoured vehicles? The bringing in of mutual aid, the cancelling of all leave, the tripling of police on the streets in 12 hours, the organising and implementation of a COBRA authorised POA, the utilisation of other police forces stations...
Sounds to me like they've been working bloody hard.

Can't we learnt from other countries at all and look at their contingency plans? Jesus Christ, making a mountain out of a mole hill with this situation.
I really just dont understand this, it makes absolutely no sense to me why people would rally around the death of someone who shot at the police and then proceed to trash there own community. And I definately dont understand why the violence has spread to other cities, none of who wouldve known this mark duggen and secondly are not even a part of his community.
Its just utter retardedness in my opinion and as i see it people are just using the death of Duggen to loot and garner free stuff at the expense of others, there was this one report of the looters trashing a small family run florist, I mean honestly what can you gain from that. i just feel so sorry for the owners. Theve done this not to make any stand or point but rather are using the death of duggen for there own gains.
I mean one interview i saw asked one of the returning looters why he was doing it and the only reason he could provide was "i have no money" so clearly he had no emotianal setimentality to supposed police brutatlity against the police or no attachmrent to Duggen which goes to show hes just in it for him self.
Im sorry but everyone involved in these riots up and down the country are utter scum. To go around trashing your own communitys as well, what does that acheive you.
I know its all well and good me being up here in the north east with no real concept of tottenham or places like that but these are just the views ive picked up from the news and people who live in the areas affected.
Its just a shame as it'll give mainly decent and friendly black and asian communitys an even worse name now and will only feed ammunition to the likes of the BNP :\ I really do wonder at the education and IQ levels of some of these rioters. *sigh* I really dont like using the word scum but i think its very apropiate in this situation, Lets just hope the police can get it under control and that we deal appropiatly with everyone involved.
