Riots in Tottenham, London! (NO RACIST COMMENTS)

Well, i've been sent home from work in Birmingham and the 3pm train has never been so packed! It reminds me of rush hour in London.
 
Still no sign of any rioting in the Welsh Valleys

I was hoping for half day in work, then off to kick **** out of some looters

Potentially a media black out, for real, to stop people seeing where its kicking off and going and joining so easily. Frankly the government should have the IP's basically turn off facebook/twitter access, get the press to only show heavily delayed coverage and maybe stop texting aswell.

Far far too many people are going and watching because they know see it on tv and go down to watch, both innocent people just watching and people who want to get in on the act.

Theres probably three main groups of people, guys who meet up and start stuff, break the windows and burn stuff, the real criminals, then you've got idiots who go to watch and end up running into stores when the more hardcore guys have opened them up, then the just gawkers, people who go down to watch. The second group you can get rid of and stop simply by them not knowing where to go, the 3rd group are completely retarded, and make the police's job way harder, but aren't being bad themselves and the 1st group's will be easily to deal with, without the other guys there.

I hope the government is doing that, because the last two days has been completely mishandled.

Whitechapel was a sight to behold apparently. There were hundreds of youths wanting to trash the place, but when the mosque emptied out from evening prayer, all the men formed a line and the wind was taken right out of the mob and they went home!

But then the government criticises Libya or other foreign countries when they do that. So it would be utterly hypocritical. Then again that wouldn't be anything new.

Problem is, 6000 cops last night, maybe there were 10,000 people looting, 16k cops tonight, maybe there will be 25k people looting, hopefully not. But I can't see most of the guys who got away with stuff in the first couple nights giving up and more people seem to be joining every night.

Truly is incompetant it takes the PM to get the police chief to recall everyone from holidays/leave/days off and get people in from other area's, that should have happened, latest, of sunday night.

Seeing that it's very hard to see how they can bring the situation under control.

20 police turn up, the kids drop their goods and start running. The police may catch a couple. The rest are free to cause more trouble elsewhere. If you scale this situation up all over London it's a huge challenge.

More to the point where are you going hold all the people that are arrested. There just isn't the cells or man power to process that many arrests, and even if they can the quality of the evidence against them is going to be so poor they're unlikely to be convicted.

The police have a bust night ahead of them.
