I've never known anything like this in my whole life, and in fact this level of mass rioting / looting throughout the UK has NEVER happened in this country's history AFAIK

It just doesn't seem real.
 
People are closing their shops nationwide not because there is any credible evidence to suggest there'll be riots in these areas but because it's not a risk worth taking. Just because shops are being closed early doesn't mean there is any evidence that anything is going to happen.
Let's not get carried away.
 
ok i finished my night shift 4.5 hrs ago and im still reading this. Sadly the tv coverage over here is a bit crap.

Glad i moved out of Britain, such a great country is just becoming a cess pit of chav's who will stomp on your face for dissing them, while they destroy and steal your property.

Given the circumstances of hundreds of hooded anarchists trying to smash open stores, I think the Police will gladly turn a blind eye to any private security guards that might throw a few fists or improvised weapons around.

Like I said last night, Topshop on Oxford Street used private security to stop people breaking into their shop during the last riots.

Would make sense to move it to a port city up north as the land is vastly cheaper and the workforce don't need "london wages" to get by on.
 
Why don't they just give the police them rubber bullets and loads of gas... what is the point of increasing police presence if they cant actually do anything

Sending the army is pointless too... so they can just get stuff thrown at them without taking any action...
