Riots in Tottenham, London! (NO RACIST COMMENTS)

I don't get why rioters are treated differently than common criminals, if someone commits a crime then the police should go and arrest them, if other rioters attack the police trying to arrest someone then even more police should come and arrest those as well, they should chase individuals down until they get them there and then!

Poster with lack of understanding has lack of understanding.

Interesting article on the BBC website about why people riot - moreso because they appear to have cropped out the posh white chap who was next to the group of black looters in the original photo!

I know this will unfortunately sound racist, but this is purely an objective observation that I want to mention. Can someone from the it's-not-a-colour issue brigade tell me why for every 1 or 2 or 3 white looters and rioters that I can definitely see in pics or video clips, I can always see far more black looters and rioters visible, ie, it's always about 10:3 ratio. I don't see anything even remotely approaching a 50/50 split. So how does one explain that?

Are people really going to tell me I'm blind and they see equal amounts of both because if so, I must be watching the wrong story.

Its pretty simple, everyone on here has acknowledged, for three days, there were more black people out, what we're getting irked by, is people who seem to for want of a better way to put it, enjoy repeating that over and over again....... but adding nothing to the argument.

Essentially most of the posts come across as "haha, they're all black, and I like pointing it out"

than constructive like "why are there so many black people involved, wtf has happened that so many people don't think what they are doing is wrong".

How many people feel the need now to go up to every german and say "lol, Nazi's", yet people seem to repeatedly love to, with no other reason, point out what some black people are doing.

In ealing is was, from what I saw, predominately white people, in Tottenham, it was mostly black people, elsewhere, theres a mix though it seems to be more black people than white people, make a point with your question, otherwise, so what? What does that change in this situation, if they were all purple or red, would the situation be any different or not need dealing with, no. The colour of people involved is irrelevant, the dealing with whoever is involved, is.

What is this crap on Sky. The police don’t want to use rubber bullets as it might alienate communities. If they started using them people would come out on the streets and applaud.
