No evidence that Mark Duggan fired at the Police.

Brace yourself London.

Important post that hopefully won't get overlooked. Not that it excuses the sort of wanton violence we've seen over the last few days.

The violence has 100% nothing to do with him, and the police have never claimed he shot at them, don't let that stop you though.

When you are arrested a known gang leader (as he quite clearly was considering he was 'known' in the 'community') and you see he has a gun on him, I would like to see your reaction.

Perhaps you are going to wait for him to shoot you?

I'm still not even caring whether he held the gun out or not, he had an illegal fire arm. Practically everything he'd have that gun for and use that gun for, would be completely wrong and deserving of tough justice.

Too many people get away with too many things too easily in this country.

The police are amongst the biggest victims right now. We have thousands of people running amok and there is just so much criticism of the police without examining why they are doing what they are doing.

Police left Salford Precinct area and now hooded scummy kids are wrecking the place. *rumour*

Slight error sending 100 riot cops from Manchester down to London surely?

"Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has urged the UK government to avoid "harsh confrontation" and exercise restraint when dealing with demonstrators, BBC Monitoring reports." - Hahhaha

So,police are saying they're considering plastic rounds... good on them and about time, too.
Public order expert and former police commander Kevin Hurley thinks water cannons and more support from the top are on order.

I'm sorry what?

How aren't business owners and innocent people not the biggest victims?

no its not. shooting to kill means they are trying to kill the target they are firing at. shooting to stop means they are trying to stop the target from escaping, and if the person being shot at dies of their wounds then so be it.

subtle difference, but a difference there is.

ps, what you doing in GD, get back to speccing computers :p

Remember Jean Charles de Menezes?

He was "stopped" by a shot to the head, because they thought he had a bomb

They didnt want him letting a bomb off, so they stopped him.

Did he say why he feared for his life? I read a report that Mr Duggan had his gun tucked in his sock - if that report is correct it's hard for the officer to justify fearing for his life.

Who gives a ****? What some scumbag gun carrying drug dealer gang leader got killed, do you think any normal law abiding person is going to lose a second's sleep over this. The officer who shot him should get a medal.

if BNP were in charge all these black people wouldnt be there to cause chaos and loot in the first place, but they always seem to get away with it!
