source?

Or is it just some of the public which suspect it with no evidence.

I know this is from the Daily Mail, but it's pretty obvious that this guy was a gangster. He was known amongst the local community as an 'elder' and a respected gang member.

Daily Mail said:
On the streets of the Broadwater Farm estate, where Mark Duggan grew up, he was also known by another name: ‘Starrish Mark’.
It sounds like an innocent nickname; it was anything but. In fact, the word ‘Starrish’ denoted his membership of a notorious ‘crew’ called The Star Gang who strut the streets of London’s N17.
The stock-in-trade of such ‘postcode’ gangs is violence, intimidation and, more often than not, drugs.
Duggan himself, according to some residents, was a crack cocaine dealer who routinely carried a gun.
It was an argument over a woman and drugs, they say, that resulted in the death of his cousin Kelvin Easton, 23, who was stabbed through the heart with a broken champagne bottle at the Boheme nightclub in Bow, east London, in March this year.
‘Duggan was paranoid about what happened to his cousin,’ said one local. ‘He had a gun to protect himself because of what happened to Kelvin.’
So much for Mark Duggan being a ‘well respected member of his community’, as he is described on a memorial website.

Ironically, in exactly a year's time in London there will be hundreds of blacks running about trying to take either gold, silver or bronze and it will all be started with the single shot of a pistol.

Sigh. You (and others) still don't get it.

He had a gun, if the police think you're going to use it, you forfeit your life and right to a trial.

You don't have more than a split second to think in these situations.

So whatever the police think in this situation is correct? No scrutiny allowed because they only have a split second to think?

Kicking off here in Manchester now, the black tracksuit scally brigade outside arndale centre, also clashes between police and youths here in Salford although that's nothing out of ordinary!

com·mu·ni·ty/kəˈmyo͞onitē/Noun

1. A group of people living together in one place, esp. one practicing common ownership

So as a 'community', shouldn't they help fellow human being in time of need? What you mean is an Arab community, whereby they only help their own kind which i'm not at all surprised about to be honest.

Lol you got owned by about 4/5 other people, I think its best you stop digging.

They are protecting their part of the world, if they started moving any wider, you would be the first to comment

"Look at these Muslims trying to take over"

There is no winning when arguing with narrow minded people

^^ from twitter

Trial him.

For once, Britboy is right.
Do you think its cool to be from 'the hood' or something?

The guy was carrying a LOADED handgun. Most normal people are glad the **** got shot.

I would LOVE to see you trying to arrest this guy who is known to the police and see your reaction as he reveals his gun.

Are you going to wait until you get shot yourself?

So you are fine with the police executing some people in the streets, bottom line ...?

Perhaps we could call these police some snazzy name .. let's think .. maybe 'death squads' ..

Ideally, no, but then I'm not fine with thugs with guns or rioting scum either.

We have to balance the world we want with the world we have.

im fully agreeing with Robbo here
he had a gun, loaded, if i was a copper and was in that situation and thought for a split second i was going to get fired on, i too would pull the trigger

Sky anchorman sounds almost disappointed that everything is still relatively quiet :p. Hopefully the looters are too scared to come out...possibly dawned on all the 16 year olds (and their parents?) that they may very well end up going to jail.

What's wrong? Can't come up with another useless excuse for why the shooting was warranted?

He was carrying a fire arm.

The police have always shot to kill with fire arm incidents.

Thats why they have armed response units.

You really dont have a clue about the world do you.

Passed aload of cops traveling towards Swansea, accompanied by three off road fire trucks.

also this, might make a dent in the rioters

anyone know what it is?

Your (and others) attitude is one of the reasons these riots are still going on to this extent now.

The police are terrified of doing anything because of people like you.
