tis a 2L Sport Tech Coupe convertible and i blooming love it :)

You were the one who first got me wanting an MX5 with your old JC edition one about 6 years ago at a RR meet.

Did you purchase this from new?

I assume the coupe one has the folding hard top?

indeedy :)

What did the full detail consist of ?

along with the usual stuff

-Paint decontamination
-Paint correction
-3 layers of Zaino Z5 and Z8

took the guy about 5 hours! Very impressed with the work :)

and yes, bought from new, but with a very decent discount.

What's it like compared to your old Mk2?

I've been tempted to try and get a test drive in a Mk3.5 to see how it compares to my Mk2.5 Sport.

it actually fares pretty damn well, its bigger and heavier but the 3.5 revisions seem to bring back the fun factor that the mk3 somewhat lost

Hi,

What revisions between 3 and 3.5?

Cosmetically there are a few external bits like lights, grille and dials are slightly different.

Mechanically the red line is 500rpm higher, think there is a few more bhp and torques and Mazda did some "fine tuning" on the gearbox and suspension to make the car a bit more poised and sporty.

Generally the consensus, which more people are saying, is the 3.5 is a massive improvement over the 3

Do you mind if I ask how much the full detail cost you? I'm debating getting one done on my MX5 and I imagine it would be a similiar cost as there similiar sized cars.

It does look very very tasty though :)

Do like a lot,

Not driven the 3.5 sport. I enjoyed the mk3 sport so if this improves on that then :D

you got your wife's WIM'd didn't you, worth the money?

I didn't take it to WIM no, I took it to Chris Franklin at Centre mavity. He tends to be quite a bit more expensive (circa £200 I think) but takes a more bespoke approach and will put lots of time into the car to get it to his liking and without question it was worth doing as from the factory is was all over the place. Main improvement is around the steering which feels MUCH nicer after he worked on it, providing much more feeling and weight, this was the most obvious improvement. On top of that I have to say it was far from vastly different, more subtle tweaks across the range but he did remove the tendency to wander over bumps and cambers and ensure that the bump control was much more under control by which I mean when you hit a bump mid corner it tends to move up and down still, but not left or right.
