Greying hair - anyone dyed it?

[...] Freaking depressing, now I am worried about it falling out due to using hair dye on it, since those chemicals cannot be healthy and probably contribute to hair loss.[...]
I have a full head of hair after 20 years of dyeing. And that's with permanent, peroxide-based dyes, not even any semi-permanent "Just For Cautious Men" stuff.

As long as you're not allergic and are sensible [read instructions, do strand and scalp tests, etc] - or rich enough to have it done professionally - hair dye is safe.

I mean, think about it: women dye their hair like mofos, and we all know they're frail creatures with brittle constitutions*, yet you don't see them going round all patchy or chromedome. In fact, I'd be tempted to speculate that pregnancy causes more hair loss than dyeing.

So don't let that be a factor in any dyeing decision, at least.

My hair has been receding since I was a teen and I started getting grey hairs in my 20's. I have taken to shaving with a 3mm trimmer and if wasn't for the fact I hate shaving as it is, I would just Bic my entire head.

Anyone know of an anti-Regaine that will remove it all without razor burn :D

I am going grey very rapidly. My Dad was grey by the time he was 30 (I am 35). Leave it OP and do it gracefully.

Loads of girls I know love it and remember, grey hair > no hair.

Been getting grey hairs since I was about 15. Inherited it from my mum who went grey fairly young. Never bothered me, I actually get a lot of compliments for it! As a greying chap you have a variety of role models: phil schofield who looks like a berk, clooney who is considered very handsome and linaker who is somewhere in between! I would never consider dying it- that is 100% gay.

So is JFM no good simisker?
Sorry, I've never used it, so couldn't tell you.

From what I've just read, it acts in a slightly different way to the permanent peroxide-based dyes I'm used to, but does seem to work.

Like permanent dyes, however, it will stain the scalp after the first application, but this'll wash off after the next wash.

I have been going grey since i was 17...its hereditary.

I shave it off, and would shave it off whether going grey or not.

Dont dye it, dying is for gayers and people who are vainer than supermodels....just shave it off.

How is shaving it off any less vain than dying it? They're both methods of denying the fact that you're going grey.

"Shave it all off" is an appropriate response to some one who is heavily balding and has a massive "egg in a nest", because it just looks ridiculous.
