I have a 4 year old and a 7 year old. Would Chessington be too old for the 4yr?

I would be taking htem on my own so couldn't leave the 4yr on his own while I take the 7yr on the rides, and also couldn't let the 7yr on the rides without taking the other one either.

It's quite expensive so I don't want to go there if there isn't much for both of them to go on.

Thanks.

7 yr old will want to go on the rides 4 yr old can't go on and 7yr old will not want to go on rides for 4 yr old tbh it'll be the same at the other theme parks.

edit: tbh the age gap is too big for you to go on your own with both take another adult and that way you'll be able to go on the rides with one kid without worrying about the other being unsupervised

Legoland would be a better one for you and the kids mate. :)

This.

Haven't been to Chessington for ages but would say not suitable for a 4 year old.

Went to Legoland a few years ago, and thought it was very good but fairly expensive unless you can find a deal.

not sure I agree with that (and I specialise in theme parks and attractions as a consultant) and my 3 year old has been to both chessington and lego in the past month and preferred Chessington. Don't forget the animal side is very kiddie friendly and there are kiddie ride basics like carousel / veteran cars and the bubble works dark ride etc.

First took my daughter to Chessington when she was 4. She absolutely adored it, went on plenty of rides with her (although she is very tall)

I remember being lifted over the tracks and waiting whilst my older brother and dad went on rides I was too small for at Chessington!

Poultons Park. I've always taken my youngest two here and up until about a year ago my eldest too.

It's always cleaner than the other parks as there is not as many teenagers/ it's geared towards younger kids but there is quite a lot still for the 7 year old.

I actually went a couple of months ago and they have a Peppa Pig world there, if that's of any interest to the youngest.

We took the kids last week and found that they have increased some of the ride heights since last year so neither of them (4 & 6) could go on dragon river and some others which they went on last year. There are still plenty of rides they can go on but you may not enjoy it so much.

I looked into Alton Towers for my 5 year old a while back and found a website that listed all the rides and their height restrictions. Perhaps you can google and find something similar for Chessington?

For what it's worth, I found Alton Towers would have been a waste of time as she'd had only been able to go on a few things.

My daughter is nearly 5, 30lbs and 93cm's so quite small, we love Chessington there are quite a few rides for 90cm's and over, as long as they ride with an adult.

Don't forget they have the zoo and the sealife centre.

The dragons playhouse is great the height ruling is no one over 1.40 meters but when you have little ones you can go play too.

There's three theme parks around London.

Legoland for the little kids, not much there for older children. One or two rides I like but it more looking at your kids having fun type of place.

Chessington for older children. Still has a fair amount for little kids, ie the zoo, great play area and rides like the BubbleWorks. But it has quite a few things they can't/won't go on, eg the rollercoasters

Thorpe Park for the teenager/students and thrill seekers! It does have a nice outdoor pool area, assuming its hot enough and few token kids rides but it's not really aimed at them.

Chessington probably the best all around. Something for everyone.
