It was actually 1015 but I eventually cut them down to about 300 after a bit of nitpicking. I don't usually process that many, I just got a bit backed up with other outings.

i found it was CPU that was holding my old system back when processing 5Dmk2 RAW. memory usage is fairly low in comparison. i just wanted 16Gb for pub points :p

Yes. And No. The maximum that Apple will sell you is 8GB memory and 500 SSD.

So I ordered it from the Apple store in the US, for delivery to a place in IL which will:

Remove the factory 4GB memory and replace with 16GB
Remove the factory HD and replace with a 480GB SSD.
Remove the factory DVD and replace with a caddy, then fit a second SSD.

Gah! That somewhat trumps my second hand Macbook I bought off an auction site

Though I expect mine was a fraction of the cost! ;)
