i know people are saying the sentences for some looters are a joke, but in reality they really are not, if these were in isolation to the riots etc, then they would be getting community orders not even jail time, so a 10 week sentence is pretty harsh for threatening and abusive behaviour that the 38 year old got sent down for, if the riots hadn't happened he would have got a suspended sentence or community order at best

If you take into account the financial cost, disruption to society and damage caused, long custodial sentencing would be proportionate.

getting them to clean it all up would be a help!

My mate is working at prision in Suffolk refitting the cells with new heating and they were due to start on a new wing tomorrow and he has been told that it has now been put on hold! So looks like that a few will end up there think he said it's 70is cells and that they are absolutely mank

Hope they enjoy their stay it's s class a or b prison as well they only get 1hr out of cell I believe a day.

Yep. When I went to College in 2000 we were the first year it was available to. Most people who got it spent it on beer mostly, irrespective of background.
