Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

He'd have got a better 'reward' by writing and complaining to Tesco that a pizza he bought wasn't up to scratch.

Agreed. Not sure why people seem to think he's entitled to massive amounts of stuff, you don't get rewarded for reporting crime to the police do you?

What was it crime stoppers gave, a "community action trust reward" or something, always wondered what that was.

Maybe it was a good kicking from the scum that associated with whoever you dobbed in ;)

As poor as the goodie bag is, its better than nothing at all!:)

Remember that you did the right thing in reporting the scammer and ensuring that the excellant service from Logitech remains for all.

Evening, yes I got the box of goodies. Whilst you can't grumble at freebies, I was disappointed not to get a new G19 keyboard despite saving them tens of thousands of pounds - LOLOLOL ah well

if i were you I'd just be glad they let you keep your fraudulent speakers ;)

If anyone would like the bag, and the XL sized polo shirt, you're more than welcome to them, the pens I will take to the office and hand out and the mouse can be kept as a spare.

I must admit, I also thought they were been a bit tight with the offerings when you think what I've stopped - should have gone looting instead :)

Don't be so ungrateful. You did a good deed - that should be the norm and not 'rewarded'. :)

But wot about da rich man?! Logitec lordin over da downtrodden yute. OP shud go jack some computer shop innit and take wots his ritefully fo real

*oh dear god I've ruined my phones autocorrect :p

Geez, can't you take pride in the fact you did the right thing? No wonder it happens so rarely if everyone think they deserve rewards.

Logitech should start putting a card in with their returns stating that that if the item was sent by a third party then it's not legitimate and if they call this number to provide details they get a reward.

Well done for doing the right thing, and be grateful you got anything at all. As already mentioned, most companies would have just sent an email saying 'thanks!'

The freebies consisted of a ...

Logitech Polo Shirt
10 x Logitech Pens
Logitech Gaming Bag (like a little over the shoulder satchel)
Logitech wireless mouse for a laptop

The guy's eBay outfit got shut down fairly quickly so I will assume they've got him!

Sounds like the freebies are mostly things that let you advertise Logitech.

But you've also got the satisfaction of doing the right thing and making it more likely that Logitech will retain their unusually generous returns policy.

I would have thought the free speakers (assuming you've contested the transaction) would be a pretty sweet reward in itself.

On the one hand, that's a pretty crap goodie bag. But on the other, you look at heroes such as Batman, and they get nothing at-all, and they get shot at, so I suppose it's a pretty good deal.

But Batman/Bruce Wayne's a billionaire, there's not much people can give him in the first place that he couldn't get himself. He's also not real. :p

Whilst there's no entitlement of high value goodies for what he did, I myself would expect something a bit better than a tshirt that you'd look like an idiot in (seriously, who would wear that?) pens, and a few other bits of rubbish you probably can't even buy from Logitech.

Considering what he'll have saved them in money, it's not exactly wrong to assume he'd have gotten something a bit more meaningful as a thanks for something he didn't really have to do.

They're more generous to their normal customers, with the likes of RMAs and such. I've had 2 replacements for my Logitech MX5500 keyboard and mouse set for the mouse buttons developing faults, and the keyboards having connection problems. They didn't ask for the old ones back, or even for me to break/destroy them, so effectively I've got two other keyboards I can use for spare parts if my latest one goes after my warranty's gone, for like replacement keys or something.

err you mean like not immediately demanding the return of the speakers he fraudulently obtained from them? (and if he disputes the transaction wih paypal, got for free).

that seems a pretty good gift.
