Is a overclock ok or not

Just fitted a new heatsink and tempted to overclock my system but worried about power issues think i will be ok but would prefer to check


i5-750
gigabyte ga-p55m-ud2
4gig gskill 1600 f3-12800cl9
1 hd
1 dvd
KFA² GeForce GTX 560 EX OC
2 case fans
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w

one other think would i see any realworld changes mostly playing bc2 at 1920x1080 or should i just leave it with turboboost on for now
 
you wouldn't see major differences in game overclocking your CPU as it can handle almost anything you throw at it. But to be honest that's not what overclocking is about. It's about pushing it to see what you can do. You may as well have a crack at it! You will however notice a slight increase in game when you OC your GPUI got a 4-5 frame increase on my 560 Ti when i clocked it to 1003 from 880. It may not sound like much, but check out 28 frames a second and then 30 frames a second. Major difference! Just keep an eye on those temps and keep tweaking till you get the peak out of your machine. Bench it and then roll it back a notch for 24/7 use.
 
the gpu is allready overclocked from stock to 905 dont think i need to touch that
but might try the cpu at 3.8 and see how it goes
 
Psu is fine. The rig in my siggy only draws a max of 400w from the wall and even then only by running Furmark and prime both at the same time. Normal use is 280w-340w.

Get it clocked. You will see some decent gains in cpu dependant games such as MMORPG's.

Not belonging to a reliable brand is worse. More likely to be made cheaply, aimed at an inexpensive machine which isn't going to be overclocked, so they're more likely to be lying about the power and current figures, which amounts to "more likely to go bang".

So OCZ is not a reliable brand? And you would expect that PSU to die? I highly doubt OCZ would put out a PSU that is not able to do what is advertised and lie about the specifications. It may be aimed at people on a budget but it is not too far from any of the other PSU's from quality names at around the same wattage.
