Ebay Designer "style" items

So I bought the following item on ebay:

6 x New Wave Villeroy & Boch Style Coffee Cup & Saucer

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....349761&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_1357wt_922

Unfortunately I did not notice it said "style" in the description which is my mistake but should the seller really be using brand names in his auction tittle and description to sell fake goods?

FYI they are really poor quality and will probably just go in the bin if they do not accept them back.

I think it is fairly clear from their ebay page that these are copies.

You should be fine to return them. His returns policy states

Returns Policy
We offer 100% satisfaction guarantee to all our customers.
:
Unsuitable and unwanted products can be returned for a refund yet we will not cover the return postage cost.

Seller is a business seller, return them under the DSR. Personally, with that feedback, I would not have bought from them.

0.4% of their monthly transactions are negative, how is their feedback in any way offputting? Have you seen some of the things idiots leave negative or neutral feedback for?

"Got lost in the mail and arrived a week late, bad service" I'm convinced a lot of buyers on eBay somehow think the sellers themselves run the postal system.

Jealous? What, is that like the default response to criticism now?

No, as he said a fool and his money are easily parted. It's something Dr. House wants so whats the problem?

This happened in the watch thread a while back, people were critising others for their choice of expensive watches. It just seemed people were jealous that they were able to spend so much on watches.

God I hate people who rate on stuff like that!

Jealousy though? Why does that come to your mind? I think buying expensive watches is idiotic and tasteless, am also "jealous" for having that opinion?

I do agree that it is a case of "A fool and his money are easily parted", I think that's the case a lot of the time when it comes to designer items. Jealous has little to do with it, and it's not about being envious about people being able to affort expensive things, it's about whether these expensive things are actually worth their price.

For example "I bought 4 boxes of 6 schott zwiesel glasses for under 100 pounds" I don't think it matters that much that he "got such a good bargain" on them, because he still spent around £100 on 24 glasses.

Granted, £90 for 6 is completely and utterly ridiculous, but I don't think it makes them worth £100 for 24, again, nothing to do with jealousy.

ok, just to be clear they are not designer tea cups. V&B is a common household brand.

I was just pointing out that a lot of ebay listings use the word "style" instead of fake and I was questioning if they should really be using the band names in the auction listings like that.

Yes I made a silly mistake, I was not paying attention and so have lost out but its 25 quid which is hardly in end of the world. If he will take them back fine, if not I will just bin them.

In my eyes £100 for 24 glasses is not bad at all, they are good quality, a little quirky (they have a 10 degree slant on them) and I generally like them. That does not make me a fool. People buy £150 jeans which I would never do but I would be happy to send 10k on a watch, each to their own

They are not fake cups though. Or are they made of paper mache?
They are in the style of that designer, without being by that designer.

Happened to me recently.

The seller had an underwear brand name listed under 'item specifics' which meant the listing turned up when I searched for said brand name. It was a gift for my other half so I wasn't really sure until they arrived and had a different brand on the label.
