im thinking about getting the Logitech G27 to use on race 07 and suck like it and mabe IRacing and a few others. i would like it for the h-shift and the clutch. but its hard to justify £220 for a wheel so i was wondering what the owners and other people think of it?

many thanks
Alistair

Buying a fanatec is a gamble. They are very nice but hugley expensive, break down a lot and customer support is dubious. With a G27 you know it's solid and Logitechs support is legendary.

I considered a GT3v2 but went for a G27 instead, haven't had a chance to use it yet but it seems a quality piece of kit.

It's a quality wheel, solid and reliable with the benefit of if anything does go wrong Logitech has great support. I've had a G25 for 3 years now of fairly heavy use in iRacing and it's still going strong.

In the same price bracket-ish, you've got:
Fanatec -- More expensive, possible quality problems, almost definite customer service problems, but if you get a good wheel they are good.
Thrustmaster -- more expensive still, no idea on support but the wheel itself seems to get good reviews, don't think it's worth the extra cost though...

200+ is silly for a wheel.. - i would buy it if i had the money tho ;)

If you look at how much you could spend on a wheel / pedal set £200 isn't bad at all. You get what you pay for with this kind of equipment anyway. You can get a fairly decent wheel for £70 but it won't have the same features and the quality of the pedals (which is definitely important for sim racing) won't be as high.
