Counter Strike Global Offensive rumours

Lool no i just think it would be better to have a wider range of weapon/upgrades available. it fits in with the Counter Terrorist vs Terrorist hostage save, for example most people like the Office map so if it was at night with night vision and silenced weapons, abit like rainbow six.

its counterstrike not COD. counterstrike works because its fair and to the point adding **** like upgrades etc does not make it fair.
what is it with gamers wanting reward after reward shoved in their face for just playing a game!

some of these comments sugget to me that many people on in this thread have never played cs/css or if they have for no more than 10 minutes.

:(

I wanted something interesting from Valve, not just a rehash of an already reasonably repetitive dull game.

But of course I will be in the minority in this view.

I always liked CS games with more than 10 players. doesn't mean less skill at all as long as the map is suitably big and perhaps more objectives. if anything it means more organisation.

Organisation that will never happen on a public server. It's hard enough getting a decent level of teamplay with an organised team of 6 people that regularly scrim and practise together. More people would just result in more random happenings and more getting shot in the back - see CoD, BF, BC2 ...

Sounds good to me so far. Won't be too fussed unless they try going down a Battlefield/Call of Duty route with stupid upgrades and perks.

Haven't played competitive CS in a year or two now and I don't plan to change that, but I've been looking forward to a new CS for ages.

 Have you actually played Counter Strike?

CSGO I can take/leave (will probably take) but the real excitement for me here is the new engine this may bring, and the obvious implications that has on concluding a certain franchise.

It's about bloody time.

For years :p

How can you say there is no organisation on public servers then. It's so easy to get people to do what you say and team up and use some form of tactic on there. Especially on maps like Office or Dust 2.

Well I guess there's different levels of organisation. There is a definite turning point when you get over a certain no. of players per team, though - when any semblance of tactics gets thrown out the window and it becomes a mass benny hill chase.

Hmm they are focusing on 5v5 far to small a number. However if the casual mode they have hinted at includes at least 10v10 would be fine. Css is better when on a server with 32 though.
