After constantly seeing threads on cars for 2k I thought I would do a little search on autotrader to see what I can find for less than 2k. There was the usual wash of old corsas, fiestas and other small hatches right up to 2005 model clios, plenty of 8 year old plus mondeos, almeras and bmw's including 330's and alike. Then I came across this beauty:

Auto trader add

Which got me thinking that for 2k there are a huge amount of different cars available but what would be your car that is full of win (for whatever reason) for 2k?

It depends on the requirements of the car. For me, i'd be spending 2k on a daily commuting car with reliablilty being the top factor.

Other people may have 2k burning a hole in their pocket and put that into something similar to the add you've posted.

Ohh the old (correcting typo :S) 300sx fairlady... I always thought these sounded awesome! Might update the thread to what would be your 2k car and why :)...

I don't think I could ever call a TR7 "Win" after being at a trackday at Donington where every lap this TR7's driver's door would fling open as it came around the chicane onto the start/finish straight.

Incredibly badly built.

HaHa I dont doubt that. Built like rubbish but still alive and kicking after 27 years, now thats not a bad feat. I mean look at it, it looks every one of those 27 years and for me I would buy that as a project.

People really do love their tegs here! never been in one... What is it about them that attracts the following?

Go drive one, you will see.

A simple premise, brilliantly executed, makes the ITR arguably the best front-wheel-drive car ever

As Meaden concluded, ‘It’s a car as sweet and all-consuming as any I’ve experienced at any price, and as pure and focused in its own way as any Porsche RS. Forget the accolade of greatest front-wheel-drive car. The Integra Type-R ranks as one of the truly great drivers’ cars of any kind.’

From Evo magazine.

Look what you have gone and done... now I need to find one to have a go in... I must admit I wasn't all that impressed with the civic type r, not the latest one but one prior. A friend had one and it just never set my world on fire. This however is completly different so worth a little drive (passenger at least) one day.

If you push it, expect to go more sideways than you'd ever expect in a FWD car. I loved mine, it was like driving an angry wasp.

Anything French with 3 doors from 1985 to 2005 pretty much!

Renault 5 GT Turbo
Renault Clio Williams + Valver
Renault Clio 172
Peugeot 205 GTI
Peugeot 106 GTI + Rallye
Peugeot 306 GTI-6 + Rallye

For me it would be the Corolla G6R

Impossible to find a good one though :(

Or a JDM B6 Prelude keep seeing a middle aged bloke in an absolutely mint 4G Prelude, if its a B6 I'd be asking him if he wanted to part with it

£2k will also get you a very nice Prelude 2.2 VTEC - probably 95% as good as an Integra Type-R.

£2k will get you a Galant/Legnum VR-4 - 2.5 litre twin-turbo V6, with the same 4WD running gear and trick rear differential as an Evo 4-onwards :)

There's plenty out there for £2k :)
