Going stag to wedding

Being single and going to weddings is rough. I rsvp'd for ceremony and reception cause i knew a couple of other people who would be going stag and figured i'd grin and bare it etc.

I'm just back from ceremony and turns out my wingmen rsvp'd no cause of work or some BS.

Considering skipping the reception, the ceremony is the most important surely.. but there is seating arrangements and food made for reception:(. How much of a dick move would it be to just not turn up at the reception?
 
I had a few people come to my wedding who didn't know anyone and they had a great time.

They have most likely paid quite a bit per person so not turning up is being a massive dick.
 
Urm... maybe the other people there will be alright? Maybe you'll make a new friend? Hell, there might even be a girl there in a similar situation to yourself! Daft not to go.
 
Just go, I've been to a fair few parties/dinners/evenings where I didn't know anyone but ended up having a great time.

As long as you're not a social retard you'll soon make friends so to speak.

Also it's a bit rude to just not turn up.
 
Definitely go. Just don't do what I did, went to my cousins wedding, spent the night chatting up this girl, next morning went to the "family only" lunch and there she was!

No blood relation but was still slightly odd.

I've got a wedding reception to go to for a colleague at work later this month and will know maybe 5 people out of 200 there (+ the groom) ... don't see any real issue with that ...
 
As others say go it's a good laugh, if you don't go let them know before at least, they've probably paid per head and may be able to reduce the cost or invite someone else who wants to go.
 
To reiterate weddings = BEST PLACE TO PULL

No single woman is going there with their guard up that someone is on the look out, no single woman is there trying to look rude and not talk to men and no single women are their to look shabby. It is the single BEST DAY for pulling as everyone is in a good happy mood :)

Also probably better now your wing man is gone as you can play the i don't know too many people here card to open conversation with any (single) woman you please! :D (and free drink will help you along)

So go go go go go!
 
Since being single I've been to a few weddings and loved all of them. Make and effort to talk to new people and off you go!
