Have any you guys owned an HTC desire and then upgraded to the HTC sensation ??

As i have just done this myself and was wondering what you guys that have done this think of the sensation compared to the desire...

I only just got home now after buying my new sensation and have just put it on charge and not used it yet..

Once I got over the fact the screen wasn't AMOLED like my Desire, I've begun to really really like the Sensation and found it to be a worthy replacement for my Desire. It's an excellent phone.

It basically combines everything that was great about the Desire with everything thats new about more modern phones, into a nice feeling package with a much bigger screen.

I sort of did, yeah. It's a decent upgrade from the Desire, absolutely no doubt about it. It just needed a bit more refinement, if HTC hadn't bothered with the Desire HD and spent more time on the Sensation, it could have been 'sensational' :p

I'm not sure about buying it blind with no research though, but that's your choice.

I did do a little research and notice a lot of people recommended the Samsung Galaxy S II over the sensation...

So i did have a look at the Galaxy S II and it just didn't seen like very strong mobile
(The rear cover started coming off in one corner just while i was playing around with it in the shop  )

You don't know?!

Been done so many time before:

I will sum it up:

- Many people think that the build quality of the GS 2 is crap mainly due to it being "too light" and due to the material being used for the chassis
- A lot of them prefer the HTC sensation because they think it feels better in the hand and feels more like a premium quality device due to it being "heavier"

But the thing is, the GS 2 is much more durable than what the sensation is and has actually got better build quality than it in the end as well.

Plus the back battery cover is very flimsy however once fitted to the back, it is tightly done and chances of it coming off are very low, the one you tested must have been faulty or just wasn't placed correctly.

Videos showing a drop test of the galaxy S (would be the same with the galaxy S 2 though)

Video of the battery back:

Not bad for a "fisher toy" (according to some people)

Would a sensation or an iphone 4 survive any of the stuff like that and still come out working and looking pretty brand new?

You are not allowed to find the Galaxy S 2 a bit cheap, apparently.

You are, but what he said wasn't related to that. Someone obviously hadn't put the back cover on properly. It's a totally solid fit.

I actually think given the punishment your phones are subjected to, the Galaxy S II would have held up better over time, but you're evil anyway :p

Please, please get a case.

Weren't you stuck on some standard old operator ROM on your Desire though?

Like 90% of the public I have no interest in fiddling with custom roms. I open the box, install the apps I like, change the wallpaper and use the phone. In this context, the Sensation battery life is no worse than the Desire, if anything its slightly better.
