Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

It's a shame that after your good deed Logitech punished you with that goodie bag, I'm sure that you can burn it or something for heat with this years gas prices.

Evening, yes I got the box of goodies. Whilst you can't grumble at freebies, I was disappointed not to get a new G19 keyboard despite saving them tens of thousands of pounds - LOLOLOL ah well

The freebies consisted of a ...

Logitech Polo Shirt
10 x Logitech Pens
Logitech Gaming Bag (like a little over the shoulder satchel)
Logitech wireless mouse for a laptop

The guy's eBay outfit got shut down fairly quickly so I will assume they've got him!

That is all you got

That is a joke giving how much you saved them.

What ever happened to doing the right thing just because it was the right thing to do? I do fear for the future

You are missing the point, that is an entirely different issue altogether. For a multi billion pound company you would think they would show a bit more gratitude. If you are going to reward someone, don't send them useless crap, that is insulting, worse than nothing at all in fact. No good deed goes unpunished I guess.

1) Well done OP for bringing this to Logitech's attention

2) Poor Form OP expecting some extravagant awards for doing a good deed.

No the point has sailed far above your head. Jesus wept

they could have given a little more than pens and t-shirts!

Yeah, they could have at least given him a ******* ruler to go with his new satchel and pens.

Have some milk

Insulting? Really?

I despair if people get insulted by not receiving a reward they deem good enough for deed they've done.

He got a wireless mouse, presumably a free set of speakers and a few other bits and pieces.

That's more than enough for sending logitech an email saying you think someone is scamming them. In fact, did he even do that himself, didn't some from OcUK actually do the emailing part?

It was the fact that what they gave him shows no consideration at all, (the t-shirt was way too big) which shows their lack of appreciation. If you say your going to reward someone, sending them tat is taking the ****. At least if they sent him nothing he wouldn't have had to get up to answer the door.

Totally disagree but then judging by this thread, the massive sense of entitlement people seem to have these days is lost on me as well.

As far as I see it, Logitech have gone beyond the necessary, they've let him keep his speaker dock which he'll no doubt be able to reclaim the cost of and they've made ten times the gesture most other companies would have done.

Maybe they'd have gone to the effort of sending him a fitted t-shirt if he hadn't just been umming and aahing until someone else took it upon themselves to actually tell Logitech what was going on.

Why should Logitech show him some consideration ??? By reporting the fraudster, he has done a genuinely decent thing, why should he need rewarding above and beyond that

Not sure if I am missing the point here and I don't want to derail the thread but it says a lot of modern society if we need a cookie and a pat on the head every time we do something that is considered the 'decent' thing.

Surely it's not the decent thing if the op went out of his way to report the fraudster hoping to get a decent peripheral or something.

I'm not saying that they should. I'm saying that that they shouldn't send him tat, raising someone's hopes only to be deluged with junk. :(

Though personally if I owned a company of that size I would show some appreciation, hell most people give a reward for finding their dog.
