Metro 2033 worth a shot for £7.99?

Fantastic game, make sure to play on the ranger setting, makes it a very good game.

I played it first time on normal, when ranger difficulty did not exist and I didn't like it, then I came back to it, noticed ranger difficulty, played it and I say its a great experience, fantastic game.
 
Just started the game and must admit the graphics and the atmosphere have a great feel, at the mo i have set the video settings to high the only thing i have changed was the AF to 16x and in game i seem to be getting around 25-35fps with mysetup. I have the game running dx10 my rig setup is in my sig and at the mo i have my 5850 running stock would this seem about right the performance im getting for me setup? is there any hidden settings i should turn off to help boost performance?

It's a fantastic game mate. I'm currently playing through it at the moment. The graphics, sound and story are very good. I suggest you turn the lights out, crank the sound up and go for a wonder :) It's made by the original team that created Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl (Oblivion Lost) so if you liked the 1st Stalker, your going to like this !!
 
I tried the MSI demo and am very impressed, performed a lot better than I expected on my machine too. I did get some tearing here and there but no option to change refresh rate or v-sync. Any other way of reducing tearing?
 
I just got this off eBay for £7, I am 99% sure I've been sold a fake copy, but it works and is activated on Steam so I'm not too fussed.

Seems like a good game so far, although I've only played it a little bit. Runs really well on my machine as well :)
 
You'd be able to run it but I think if you had DOF and Tessalation ticketed you may find it a little slow. My advice is to turn those off and crank up everything else.
