Ban the grammar and spelling nazi's!

I'd disagree with this part. I wouldn't go so far as to say that everybody should be perfect on these points under pain of... well, pain - but it should be an important area for consideration and people should really make the effort to learn the differences between common homonyms. It's really, really not hard if you take the time to think about it, unless you have a disability, in which case there are other methods by which one can differentiate between them in any given situation.

You are correct, it is me being lazy. But tbh, I have better things to worry about in life. If I get corrected. Oh noez, what will I do lol.

It just doesn't bother me in the slightest. If Somebody cannot see past a few spelling mistakes,. Then Meh, bothered lol

Well I don't care about people's spellin. da peeps who correct clearly as an addicshun to da intaweb an' need to go outside. Innit brahs.

Corrected for you:

Well I don't care about people's spelling. Da peeps that correct clearly as an addiction to da intake an' need to go outside. Innis brash.

No point in correcting at all. :p

Anyway, spell it how you like, it matters little.

It matters so little that you argued the point over four pages over my wish that people would at least use the auto spell checker.

If I use the auto spell check on Gadafi I get Gadabout, which I'm sure isn't correct :p

Wish OP would have completed his sentence.

Ban the grammar and spelling nazi's what?

Their dogs? Their loud shirts? Their gas-guzzling SUVs?

Without this vital information I don't know what to make of his thread, tbh.

It doesn't really bother me as long as the post makes sense, but a lot of people will make judgements about someone's intelligence if they don't make an effort.

Oh look, another one of these threads :p

Think of it this way, if people who got average GCSEs can speak and write using correct spelling and grammar, then anyone whose main language is English should be able to as well. Those who don't are just lazy.

Haha, I get 'Gadfly' when I use the spell-checker on Gadafi.:D

Gaddafi is fine though.;)

I find people will pickup spelling mainly when they don't agree with a post. Rather than tackle the issue and post a counter argument they choose to try and undermine the person who has posted - i find it rude to be honest and in some cases plain pathetic.

I know an internet forum is different to chatting down the pub but i personally apply the same etiquette. Not everyone does - their choice and i will judge them in the same way as if it were a discussion in person. I dont think it's grounds to be banned though.

agree, its a low blow that normally comes from them losing some sort of debate.

yhe i hte da fplin gramar natzis!

However, on the other hand they do keep the forum to a high standard of grammar, as people will double check their sentences prior to posting in case a Nazi is lurking in the thread, ready to quote your sentences.
