Anyone here gone from a HTC Desire to an HTC sensation ??

People on here are generally a little more intelligent than the average Joe Public when it comes to technology though.

I think that needs to be taken into account when making recommendations to members of this forum.

Are you trying to say that tendancy to want to use a custom ROM is linked to intelligence?

So what we are saying here is that although the battery on the Sensation lasts about the same if not longer than the Desire, the actual answer is that its 'worse' because if you root a desire and install a custom rom, you can increase the battery life?

Like 90% of the public I have no interest in fiddling with custom roms. I open the box, install the apps I like, change the wallpaper and use the phone. In this context, the Sensation battery life is no worse than the Desire, if anything its slightly better.

I didn't mean custom ROMs, HTC improved battery life over time but operators are slow and don't like to release new ROMs unless there is a very good reason to.

But as you bring up custom ROMs then yes it's a fair comparism as most(?) Desire users in this forum use custom ROMs, I didn't think of that.

Interestingly, having tried a ridiculous amount of custom ROMs, I've never bothered keeping one on.

Also, what I said about the battery was based on what I've read and what I can remember about when I had the Desire.

Im very impressed with the S2. Yes the back feels flimsy as heck but once on it wont budge. I bought the Samsung back cover case for it which makes it feel very solid.

I have every faith it would survive the drop here and there.

Having just made the choice between an S2 and a Sensation... I just couldn't see myself looking at the S2 every day for the next 2 years. It looks like an LG :/

My phone been on 15hours and says it has 68% battery left

ive made the switch from the desire this weekend. battery seems better than my desire with Oxygen Rom. feels great, much better weight and feel compared to the desire HD as well (parents have the hd).

i had the first batch of the desire (they changed the screens a few months into production) as well and i still think the screen on the sensation is much nicer.

overall a worthy upgrade. the grin of having 1gb free of memory still hasnt left my face after the battle of keeping the desire trim.

Which is exactly what is good about it, given how brilliant the Desire was.

Not when I've already had a Desire for a year - got bored of its looks. The SGSII looked a lot more appealing and sleeker to me.

The Sensation looks much more like the Desire HD than the Desire imo. Mainly due to the earpiece. It's a far nicer shape though.
