how to keep flys out of the house

That doesnt keep them OUT though does it?

It just traps one or two when they are inside already!

I opened my front door today, and a fly flew in immediately, like it was actually waiting for me.

Its nuts, wtf is wrong with them, and why are they attracted to the insides of houses?

Is it the smells? They smell food and stuff and want to go lay eggs?

My cat solves the problem, neighbours must wonder WTF its doing when its diving around the windows though, much fun to watch!

Dont open your doors.

Use fly screens

Keep windows closed
Use window fly screens
Use fly paper
empty your bins, clean your bin and sinks etc, don't leave any food or sweet drinks lying about.
have a shower.

DEAL WITH IT.

I have a electric fly killer on wall in the back porch, gets most flies, insects, before they get to the back door.

Has anyone got one of those electric fly swatters, are they any good.

Had this beastie last year, didn't over-winter very well. Didn't have many flies about so ironically I fed it stray spiders lol

I have a massive spider costume which I or my wife wears if we have to open a window. The flies, fearing the spider stay well away.

Mesh screens on the windows keeps flies, wasps and bigger spiders out. Doors are only opened if someones going in or out.

I hardly get any at all (though I actually don't do anything to discourage any spiders that have moved in), with windows open pretty much the whole time.

Maybe 1 'house fly' type a year, and the odd little thunderfly type thing taking a liking to my monitors at night.

Whereas in summer, house flies were often sneaking into my gran's house and zipping around the living room in pairs during the day, despite insect killer devices / fly paper, and her place was kept pretty spotless. No pets at either place or anything, just different locations.

Only thing that might be keeping them away from my place specifically is that just around the corner of the building are communal waste bins (enough to hold about 10 black sacks of rubbish each), perhaps they're just more attracted to that..?

You will need 1 spider. Train it to spin a web over all the windows and doors. Any fly attempting entry gets caught by the web!

Same problem, bought an electric tennis fly killing bat, lots of fun when your bored.

Still after a hanging chain lightweight curtain for the patio door which i leave open most of the day. thats should solve most of the flies out ..
