OcUK GeForce GTX 580

It's a good deal, so long as you understand that these are refurbished (often remanufactuered) cards and only come with a one year warranty.

If you are happy with that then they are a great deal.

Also, if you do go for two GTX 580s then make sure you get a good quality PSU of at least 850W, a big case with good airflow and a motherboard that supports SLI and has good spacing between the main PCIE slots.

the build they would be going in is a i7 2600k, Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z and a coolermaster-haf-x

i would want the cards to last a good 2-3 yrs so i dont want them to break in 370 days after i get them

I doubt they will break for a long while if you treat them properly.

Don't forget though, they are OEM, so they will most likely come in a plain brown box and you will receive JUST the card. No other accessories that you would get in a normal retail box.

None of which you really need anyway.

i dont plan on OC'ing them, and at that price id be happy with just the cards, the mobo comes with the bridges etc and drivers can be downloaded, and i assume the extra pieces of software can too, though correct me if im wrong here

Aye, you are quite correct.

The main things you get from buying a new card over this OEM one is a longer warranty. If a mere 1 year warranty is a dealbreaker then you need to go for a card like one of these and make a note of the brand and warranty length. Also, if you are running an SLI setup then I would suggest going with a reference design one using the standard rear-exhausting Vapour chamber cooler.

the one yr warranty aint a deal-breaker if they are as good as the normal cards, the extras i wont get i don't mind and i would get a 6970 for the same price, i dont want to spend more than £600 for SLI/XF set up and as these were the same price but better than the 6970 thought id look into it
