Currently have an i5 750 @ 3.8GHz, and 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws (2 x sticks). Due to the silly pricing, going to sell this and replace with 8GB while I can.

My 2 choices are between the following @ £45 each:

8GB Corsair Vengeance PC3-12800 (2 x 4GB)
8GB Kingston HyperX Genesis PC3-12800 (2 x 4GB)

Not sure which to choose?

If you prefer the Vengeance, and you can get it for £45, then go for it.

If it's the old style Vengeance then just be aware that the big heatspreaders can interfere with some CPU coolers.

Old style:

'Tis indeed 'old' style, but I have an Antec 620 CPU cooler, so will have no issues with heat spreaders.

Ordered ;)

The memory prices are ridiculously low nowadays.

I paid over £80 for my Patriot Sector 5 1600MHz CL8 2x2GB kit two years ago.

I can get twice as much RAM for half the price today. :/

I'll wait till some decent RAM kit go below £40 mark and grab it straight away.

Memory prices might start going the other way, can't see it going much lower, as makers must be near to making a loss.

Any cheaper & they will be giving the stuff away free.

The production costs are falling too, you can produce more for less these days.

I remember someone mentioning that RAM prices will be going down until at least Q4 of this year or even 2012.

It seems to be happening right now and I guess waiting a couple of months can't hurt.
