Thinking of upgrading to an i5 sandy bridge whilst my q9550 is still worth a good price second hand. Would I be able to re-use my thermalright ultra heatsink?

Yep, youll just need to source a 1155/6 bracket for it.

About £5.

Search for "Thermalright 1156 bolt through kit".

Now I've just got to work out roughly how much I'll get back for my old parts against the cost of the new parts. Reckon I'd only be about £125 down.

Not 100% sure if I'm going for the upgrade yet. But I'm getting that upgrade itch for something new to play with, lol.
