(note my sisters dog still hasn't sorted him self out after his snip which is annoying as the cat is much cooler)

Well we trained him from a pup. But i dont see why it should be any different. May take time but its worth it in the long run.

Buy him a blanket or big cuddly toy or something that he likes, let him get attached to it. And he will start "pleasuring himself" with it. Whenever he goes for you, just throw him the blanket. Keep training and eventually he will clock on

A friend at work was saying he has to get his lhasa apso done as well, constantly leg humping and peeing all over the place.

heheh we had it done to our dog when he was a young-un and they say it does clam them down considerably. thing is we got it done so young there was nothing to compare vs :)

I can't imagine that the dog gets it *all* on the blanket/toy either :p Presumably there are occasionally messes to clean up...

I'd just get them chopped off :p

Had a House Rabbit that was rather randy and had to do this for the poor old boy, he would not mate with any of the female bunnys but loved Pikach!
 
My cat and my dog have both been done, though it wasn't my decision. The cat wasn't fussed, but there was a huge difference in the dog for the first 4-5 weeks. Since then he's been doing better than ever though. I think that if you are not breeding from him, then it's a good idea to get him done. I really wanted to breed from mine when he got older (white German Shepherd), but now he never will! :(
