aaah, MOH.... halcyon days indeed.
MOH-AA was the daddy of ww2 fps's and my first taste of online gaming.
Not only did it have great SP, but the music was pretty awesome too.
Was in a couple of clans early on back then AK-UK and another that escapes me.
Then came MOH-AA-SH, my all time most favourite ww2 shooter. ~Played in a couple of clans then too - NER (new european regiment) and subdivisions of... NER-UK, then EBA (european brothers in arms) following NER meltdown.
Was a happy bunny helping running friendly / tactical / no damn hacking cheater ***** servers, also used to frequent VS-UK servers a lot. Lot of matches in the Spearhead League too.
Still have TLF server bookmarked in Xfire

Not that I play it much, all the good clans seem to have moved on to other games; it's what brought EBA to its knees in the end. And many of the servers left run silly mods that took all of the community out of the game and made it all about kill rankings.
I did love my M1 to bits though... put an end to many a jerry back in the day.
MOH Pacific assault was a good SP game, I rather liked it.
Do not speak to me of MOH Airborne... the last game I pre-ordered, to my eternal regret, it could have been so much more than it turned out to be. In the end it was nothing but a glorified console port
hehe, I only started playing COD2 about 2.5 years ago. Play in a COD2 clan more recently.. tactical gaming clan thing, none of this rush about lobbing millions of nades nonsense

Iron-sights took some getting used to, but COD2 has a charm all of its own, especially with the odd MOH map throwback... ~sigh~
Currently awaiting the change over to RO2, as COD2 is starting to thin out (like MOH before it, god rest all their souls) The battle for europe will never end!
Thing is, I still know one or two guys from way back in the Spearhead days; after a long time in the wilderness as a solo gamer I'm back in the fold shooting it up with some of the same people from yester-year waiting for RO2.
I think that's what made MOH and its first three derivatives so great - the community of gamers who made it what it was.
So games come and go, and some clan mates have fallen in the real world, but I'll always remember MOHAA & SH as my golden age of gaming, when games were made for gamers and thriving communities rose for the fires of war
whoah, nostalgia attack much?
