Just wondering if anyone has any settings for an attempt at 4.8 on a 2600k? Ive had it at 4.5 for ages, just trying to eek a little more out of it. :)

all chips are different. some people have been able to get stable on 1.4v ish some need a bit more. im on 4.8 at moment and using 1.46v. but using offset mode so it only uses 1.46 when on gaming, and i dont want anyone saying THATS TOO HIGH please. as im happy with it.

What do you expect? There's hundreds of tutorials out there for overclocking sandybridge, and I'm sure you know that nobody can just give you "settings" as you have to overclock your own chip.

If you want to try for 4.8, just up the mult and throw more voltage at it until it's stable. You might have to enable PLL overvoltage. Other than that there's not much to change, and you'll have to figure out voltages by yourself.

Funny that as theres been threads before with reccomended settings for certain overclocks, it helps as a base to work from...

if you need anymore help afer reading all that just post back and ill do my best. but selling up because im skint and have bills to pay so you best be quick lol

Ive just found a thread on another site where someone has spoken to an intel member asking them what the max safe volts is. Intel said the max safe is 1.52 but it will go much higher but they dont recommend going over this. I dont know if im allowed to post that as its on a different site am i?

You're already at 4.5; you have a base to work from.

Thanks for the info, i was more interested in what ways people were achieving the clock, some are using multiple options with not as much cpu voltage, others just brute force on the cpu voltage. Thats more the base i was looking for, what voltage to start tweaking from 4.5 upwards.
