Sound as good as the HD 595's, but do not leak sound and are comfortable to wear.

Looking to spend around £100 tops.

Am I being to demanding?

Thanks

The 595's leak sound and arn't comfortable ? Hmm, was looking at these too :(

Hope you find something decent, I'm in the same boat atm.

I'm still waiting for my AD700's though

Sorry phrased myself wrong. They are very comfortable and would like the same level of comfort.

They leak sound enormously though, it's almost like speakers!

Yeah, I think you are being too demanding... for two reasons.

First, closed back headphones won't sound as good as open back headphones at the same price. So you'll need to spend considerably more to get an equivalent sound.

Second, you already don't want to spend what HD595 open backed headphones cost (£120 - £180), so how on earth do you expect to get more for less?

Revise your budget or your expectations I think

AKG K271 MKII ~£120
Denon D1100 ~£110
Denon HP700 ~£105
ATH-M50 ~ ~£110
Ultrasone DJ1/HFI-580 ~£120
Creative Aurvana Live! ~£55
Shure SRH440 ~£90
Shure SRH750DJ ~£100

I totally disgree with lucid.

I only paid £80 for a brand new set of HD 595's.

Thanks for list will check them out.

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's?

Will check out. Thanks.

Budget has gone up to around £140 inc second hand stuff.

What will you be driving the headphones from? That is something you need to consider.

Also, when you say "sound as good as the HD595" what do you mean? Every headphone has a different sonic signature (or tonal balance) so are you after something that sounds just like the HD595?

The DT770 is super comfortable and isolates with minimal leakage. However, it will not sound like the HD595 at all. It has bloated bass and recessed mids in comparison. The HD595 is rather bass light and has a forward mid-range.

I'm just looking for something that I will be able to listen to music, films and games and not be noticing anything wrong. I'm not an audiophile, I just want something decent.

Granted it won't sound like the 595s but they will sound as good just different. My vote would probably be on the DT770 pros as well. The Denon D1100 are good for the price but not the most comfortable and likewise the Creative Aurvana Live! (rebadged Denon 1001s IIRC) tho it does depend a bit on the shape of your head those 2 would probably be my next 2 down on the list tho for various reasons.

For a mixture of gaming, music and movie useage I'd probably put the Sennheiser PC333D fairly high up on the list - sound quality is good, very useful for gaming and quite comfortable.

EDIT: Tho I probably wouldn't move from 595s to 333Ds tho lol.

Yeah, I didn't say one sounded better or worse than the other. It's usually about sound signature differences and personal preference at a given price point, rather than technical ability. That's not to say headphones in the same price range always perform similarly. The HD595 definitely is over-priced these days considering it used to go for £80.
