Ebay advice please

are you an idiot? we all told you it was fake , as soon as the word Nigeria comes into the mix its an insta-avoid. now report it to ebay and carry on with your life.....seriously.

No, I am not an idiot. Everything has been sorted, I have been refunded and item is being relisted. I never said it wasnt fake, hence why I didnt send it and got it solved
 
Obvious scam is obvious. In the future, there is a setting on the eBay listings page to only allow members with >2 (I think, been a while since I used it) feedback and to disclude members with no/negative feedback - filters out most of the idiots.

Can you explain what's actually happened here?

You listed your laptop for sale on ebay.
It was won by someone who had just opened a new ebay account.
They sent you an email and asked for your paypal email address.
You posted here and were told not to send anything and just to ignore it.

What else has happened?

What's all this about a fake paypal email and then having no money in your account?
 
I think the scammer just sent a generic fake pay pal email showing his account with the payment or payment screenshot of his account with his account showing the amount paid.

Hence why he looked in his account he didnt see any money.
 
This is what I would do now:

Send the scammer a big box, large enough to contain a laptop. In it, wrapped in bubblewrap is another little box, in it is a picture of the laptop, with the following written underneath -

Here is your fake laptop, thanks for paying me with a fake paypal email.

Write on the customs label, PC - value £500. You will need a CN23 label for the outside, available from the post office.

Might cost you a couple of quid to send, but worth it IMO!
