Hi, I'm going to be upgrading my computer in the next few months for BF3, just waiting to see how bulldozer turns out, if not i'll jump on the i5 but since the 480 is at an amazing price i'm going to buy it now. Just one question tho. Being PCI-e 2.0 will it work on my current motherboard:

DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI?

Old school computer ha ha, still on 6800 ultra's and AMD FX-55. Was state of the art 6 or so years ago. Its a long needed upgrade.

Cheers

That board has a PCIE v1 x16 slot - so half the bandwidth of a PCIE x16 v2.0 slot, but in terms of real-life performance the drop will be less than 5% FPS.

However, in reality you won't have this issue as you CPU will limit your performance well before the PCIE bandwidth does.

Spot on thank you. Yeh I know my whole system will bottleneck the 480, but it will be an improvement over the 6800 ultra's intil I upgrade.
